Sake is een Japanse alcoholische drank, die onder andere wordt gemaakt van rijst. Het wordt ook wel rijstwijn of rijstewijn genoemd, hoewel sake geen wijn is. Officieel heet sake gemaakt van rijst in Japan seishu (清酒; “klare alcohol”).

Al vele eeuwen wordt deze drank in Japan geproduceerd door onder andere fermentatie van rijst en water.

Sake kan zowel koud, op kamertemperatuur, warm als heet gedronken worden.
